Phang Nga Bay - James Bond Island
Phi Phi - Rai Lei - Krabi

Koh Lanta Yai & Five Islands

The Andaman Sea area of Thailand has been popular with sailors for a long time. Although most of the charter bases are on Phuket island most of the crewed and bareboat sailing yachts head for the many offshore islands in Ao Phang Nga National Park, Koh Yao Noi, Koh Raya Yai and Koh Bamboo. You can can also venture further afield to the eastern Andaman areas of Koh Phi Phi , Ko Lanta archipelago and Krabi/Rai Lei These eastern areas have an overwhelming number of pristine beaches and spectacular snorkeling.

In the Gulf Of Siam off Thailand’s southeast coast you will find one of the most beautiful sailing areas in southeast Asia, the Koh Chang archipelago, a 52 island group known as Muko Chang Marine National Park. Over 70% of the land is still virgin rain forest working it’s way down island slopes to the ocean where you will find some of the most beautiful palm fringed beaches in the world. On a few of the larger islands like Kho Chang, Kho Mak and Kho Kood you will find nice resorts tucked into safe harbors with beautiful beaches, where you can go ashore for great meals at the many resorts and have adventures like elephant trekking and walks to beautiful waterfalls. These larger islands along with the many smaller ones offshore also have plenty of deserted anchorages with beautiful unspoiled beaches where you will probably be the only yacht present in the evening. There are so many fishing villages on these islands that you are never more

than a few kilometers away from buying some seafood to cook on the boat or better yet just let the local restaurant cook you up a feast. In this Thai archipelaco seafood is eaten during every meal of the day. An island breakfast featuring an omlet the size of a large pizza with giant crabs, calamari and steamed rice is a gastronomical delight. But the charter company will also make sure you have all the additional basic food provisioning before you leave their base. You should charter in this archipelaco if you want to visit a real “virgin island” area, where the winds are perfect, the food is great and good snorkeling everywhere. “Sailing Thailand’s Virgin Islands” © Brunswick Illustrated 2008 - PDF file
Nha Trang Vietnam

In Vietnam, you’ll be sailing the Nha Trang archipelago from May through September. The town of Nha Trang itself and it’s nearby beaches is a very colorful place where you will probably want to spend a few days before or after your charter. From Cam Ranh Bay to Vin Ninh you’ll have 60 miles of archipelago to explore. You be exploring islands like Hon Tre, Hon Lao, Hon Mieu, and Hon Mun. Many of the islands have small resorts that can provide you with excellent meals and the clear visibility of the sea in the sailing season has made this area the scuba-diving capital of Vietnam. After your sailing vacation you will not want to miss seeing some of the other exciting places in Vietnam, such as HCMC-Saigon or the beautiful mountain town northwest of Saigon, known as Dalat- the Strawberry, Golfing and Flower capital of the country.
